
Sanelisiwe Majola
Sanelisiwe Majola is a South African backing vocalist born and raised in Umlazi, Durban. Her passion for music began at a young age, singing in church and during morning assemblies at school. In 2018, she entered the Gospel Icon Discovery competition, hosted by the eThekwini Municipality’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Department, and achieved fourth place. Determined to develop her craft, she later joined local ensembles such as Icebo Gospel Group, gaining valuable performance experience. From 2024 to 2025, she was selected to be part of the eThekwini Gospel Music Crescendos. Sanelisiwe has contributed to several notable gospel projects, including the Kingdom Mandate Revival Tour with Dumi Mkokstad, where she shared the stage with renowned artists such as Hlengiwe Mhlaba, Sindi Ntombela, Xola Toto, Lusanda Beja, Sneziey, Nomini Nyawose, Sbonga Mtshali, SbuNoah and Xolly Mncwango. She also participated in a joint live recording featuring Sabatha Mthethwa, Sanele Mtolo, Qhawe and Ayanda Mpanza. Her other appearances include Thulani Gah Ndlela’s Pre-Easter Gospel Festival, where she shared the stage with Nozipho Phiri, Ntokozo Mbambo, Nqubeko Mbatha, Mnqobi Nxumalo, Takie Ndou, Ncebakazi Msomi and the Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors. Sanelisiwe was also selected as one of 12 women to participate in Betway Voices, an initiative presented by Betway in collaboration with Duma Collective. The programme focused on mentoring and developing young female artists in the music industry. Throughout her journey, she has worked with artists including Sgwili Zuma, Ntokozo Ngongoma, Dumisani Manukuza, Phumla Gumede and Thina Zungu, while also performing at numerous local events. Her recent appearances include a performance with Abafosi at the Playhouse and a collaboration with Malusi Mbokazi. With her rich experience, commitment to excellence and passion for gospel music, Sanelisiwe continues to grow as a vocalist and make a meaningful contribution to the South African gospel music industry.
